  Keo in Cog Mag
This has been sitting on my desk for too long already, because I am a slacker. But better late than never, right? Well, always late. But rarely never. What am I talking about? Oh. Keo got a two page spread in the latest issue of Cog Magazine. Above is one of the two. Keo is a sweet dude. I've got a bunch more news to post, stay tuned... -gob

  Fixed Squared
Fixed/Fixed hubs, fresh off the cnc machine. Available after Interbike. The Hotness.

  Summertime

(This has been floating around our servers for a week or so due to massive confusion on my part as to which server I was supposed to be uploading news articles to.)

OK, a little news.

I don't even have the prototypes yet, but Fixed/Fixed Profile hubs are in the pipeline and should be on team rider's bikes before a whole lot longer.

I've put together a spline drive prototype bike. The spline drive system eliminates the sprocket bolt, which has proven to be the weak link with running Profile cranks with Fixed Gear bikes. So I'll be playing around with that, and as soon as I have some 165mm versions, Tom and Burd will be playing around with them too. For now, if you're running Profile cranks on your fixed bike and you're having issues with the sprocket bolt, email me (christian at profileracing dot com) and I'll send out a solution we worked up here. It's a set screw and a lock-nut that replaces the sprocket bolt. You loctite the crap out of the set screw, and then torque down the lock nut. It's not perfect, but it's better than riding around tightening up your sprocket bolt every few hours.

We'll have a bad ass FBM/Profile/Artist to be named later collabo bike in the Profile booth at Interbike this year. FBM is making 5 framesets for it, and we're supplying hubs, it's going to be pretty damn sweet.

I don't think this will just buff out.
John Prolly sent me a link to this news on his blog. Hello, BMW? RIP.

  Riding it out
posted 8.18.08
So there's a hurricane getting ready to come to Florida and wreck some shop, hopefully it won't wreck ours. We're battening down the hatches and buying bread and water and batteries like there's no tomorrow, because who knows, there might not be. And if there isn't, we better have plenty of bread and water.

Tom and Tony have been spending a fair amount of time in the NYC this summer, as evidenced by their frequent appearances in John "Prolly" Watson's Flickr. Check down at the bottom of this update for that.

I spoke with Keo the other day, he's building up yet another new bike and shredding it up out in Seattle. Hopefully we'll have some photographic proof shortly.

Burd has probably gone the last month and a half without riding his bike more than a mile or so, but he still hasn't put a foot down, and he rides everyday, so you do the math on that one. He's working on a new film, and it's rumoured that not only will they be shooting in HD, but they'll also be wiping the dirt off the lens from time to time. I've been sworn to secrecy on the specifics, but there should be some heavy hitters guest-starring in this one, in addition to all of the current heavy hitters. As always, details at bootleg sessions as they're released.

The Olympics have really impressed me, in general, for the first time in years. I even watched badminton the other day, and it was bad-ass. The track cycling events have been bad-ass, too, make sure you watch them if you have the chance. I'm not sure why this Olympiad is any different, but there you go.

Lightbox Test
This is simply a test to see if lightbox will work automatically on photos added to this entry.

  been a while
I've actually got a bunch of news, but we did some work on the back end and got this fancy bloggin' software installed. Let me start out with some crossover BMX/Fixed action. Kevin Porter just built up a Sword, it is sure to inspire some ire from the BikesnobNYC, but KP's from Chicago so I think he's going to be ok.

  Bike Jerks up in Minneapolis
It's slow around these here parts lately, sorry no updates. Don't you worry, we have lots of stuff percolating for you for next fall. New Cranksets, for starters, and a rad collabo with a famous artist guy, for nexters. We should have a fixed/fixed hub for you by interbike, too. So we haven't been slacking. Welllll, maybe a little bit. The Bike Jerks up in Minneapolis have an event planned for later this month. The Orlando kids had some fun last weekend, and from the looks of the results, Tampa/St Petersburg was all over the front of things. They had a slip and slide check point. That is rad. I've been saying things are "rad" on and off since about 1980. I think that makes me really old.

  More fun in Orlando
Another weekend of fun, with shows, polo, critical mass, movies, bike maintainence workshops, kids bike races, and to top it all off, a scavenger cat. Bring a camera. Click the flyer for more details, or email Ryan for more info.
