Well, looky what I found. 49 tooth 144 BCD chainrings have been trickling in from the Anodize in various colours, and will be available starting tomorrow direct from Profile. We'll probably sell out of this first batch pretty quickly, so let me know if you want one. We are also ready to ship out 144mm bolt pattern Spline Drive Spiders to match them up to Profile Cranks. Dialed. More sizes of both chainrings and spiders will be arriving as we get closer to Xmas, so keep checking ProfileFixed.com for announcements. Ever wanted to see all the colours of Profile Fixed hubs? One of our shops did, so I figured you might as well. Enjoy. I've been riding on the new true 3/8" axle for about 3 months now, and they've been rock solid for me. Although the cone spacers I'm riding aren't knurled, I've had zero problems with them slipping on me. Having said all that, that's what we're working on for the production models- knurled CrMo inserts for the ends of the Aluminum cone spacers for the rear hub. Strangely, it's more complicated than it sounds. We're hopefully about a month away on those axles. |

| Profile Racing for 2010: Fixed Gear |
|
There's big news on the Profile Fixed and Mountain Bike Fronts in 2010, too. FIXED GEAR RIDIN' The Profile Spline Drive Spider will be available in 144mm and 130mm bolt patterns, and in most of our colors. Machined from 6061 aluminum with a hardened CrMo spline interface, it will allow you to run Profile Cranks on a fixed gear without the headache of a sprocket bolt loosening up and sawing your BMX style sprocket to pieces. We will have some No-Boss 165mm cranks available before too long as well- they are at the welder's as I type this. Also pictured is our Gun Drilled Hollow CrMo spindle in a 5.25" length. This shorter length allows you to run your cranks with as narrow a q-factor as you dare. If there is demand for them, we can make these in Titanium, as well. Profile's 144mm (and 130mm's to follow) 1/8" chainrings will be available in all of our popular colors and sizes. 49t will be available very soon, 46, 44, etc to follow. They are machined from 7075 Aluminum. Profile Fixed hubs have always been strong, but the one weak point has been the rear axles under larger riders trying 180 and 360 gaps type tricks. By switching to an axle that is derived from the front axle in our BMX Mini Hub, that weak point has been all but obliterated. With the True 3/8" (10mm) bolts and a new oversized hollow aluminum center axle, these hubs are ready for whatever you throw at them. I rode these axles myself at FM24 in Atlanta this year- they were rock solid over all the harsh roads, steep climbs, and curb hops I managed to throw at them. Our 48 hole Polo hubs are pretty much the epitome of burly indestructability, but with the True 3/8 axles, they are even more so. Polo hubs are available in Fixed/Fixed or Fixed/Free, and at least 3 colors. Here's the Fixed front hub with the True 3/8 Axle. It's more or less a slightly shaved down BMX Mini Front Hub, so you know how strong they are already. In addition, we're working on a lighter Fixed Hub design, which will probably be intended more for racing. We're still working out the details on those. |

| Polo Hubs Unleashed |
|
| Profile Fixed guy Pete Young is more or less determined to conquer every type of riding he can on his fixed gear. In addition to Alley Cats and Cyclocross, he competed in the St. Anthony's Triathlon last weekend (on his fixed, of course.)
He's heading up to Boston today for the ESPI 3 day Bike Polo extravaganza with a set of Profile Polo hubs laced up to some Sun Rhyno Lite 48 hole rims. Sweetness. What this means is that you, too can now buy Profile Polo Fixed hubs, in black or polished finishes. We should have some Purple Polo hubs coming back from anodizing very soon. We made them in both Fixed/Fixed and Fixed/Free, 120mm or 130mm spacing. |

| Fixed Fight 09 Comprehensive wrapup |
|
| On Saturday April 18, 2009 with clear skies, the sun shining, and 168 registered racers; the stage was set for Fixed Fight 3. When someone thinks about a perfect day for a race, this is what undoubtedly comes to mind. The city of St. Petersburg witnessed a fight like no other that day. Fixed Fight is in its third year and stronger than ever. Special guest organizer, Pete Young and race founder Todd Siegle started the day early. Pete was downtown setting up checkpoints and making sure things were set before the sun even lit the city up. Race headquarters for the day was Café Bohemia (www.myspace.com/cafe_bohemia). Here we prepared for registration, award announcements, and the after-party. The first racer was registered around 1PM and two hours later the 168th and last racer was registered. A special thank you goes to Matthew Neal of Café Bohemia for opening up his establishment to all of us. Additional thanks to Matt Bennett of PBR for keeping everyone happy. The race was about to start… In typical Florida fashion, the race started with a run to the bikes. Video provided by Jeremy Quijano at the start of the race gets things started for the day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVX8GtxB97U). Jeremy happens to be a sponsor this year and will be graciously building a custom track frame for the 1st place male under his Quijano Bike Co. (http://quijanobikeco.blogspot.com). Not to let the ladies go unaccounted for, additional sponsor Justin Pogge of Old Field Cycles (http://oldfieldcycles.blogspot.com/) will be building a frame for the 1st place female. If that wasn’t amazing enough, we were extremely lucky this year to have Villin Cycle Works (www.villincycleworks.com) and Lex Dold on board to hand-paint both bikes. Thanks again Lex! Let’s get back to the race with another video. Yet another sponsor, Michael Davis of 66Fixed Bicycle Shop (www.66fixed.com) had his on-board camera rolling at the start and during the race. Hop on for a wild ride through the streets of St. Pete (http://www.66fixedgear.com/image/66Fixed_FF3.mov). This year’s race was roughly 25 miles long, depending on which routes you took. It was a map to map based alley cat and even included a cyclo-cross checkpoint thrown in for good measure. After completing all 8 checkpoints and coming in 1st overall was Tampa, FL’s Dave Horst. Not long after we saw Elizabeth Morse-Hill cross the finish line as the 1st female. The entire race was documented by countless video and photographers. Our man in the mix of most of it was well known NY based photographer Parker Young. Countless pictures of the day’s events can be seen on his site at (www.parkeryoung.net/ff3). The day was far from over and that was evident by the start of the trick contest. Frazier from Orlando took the title. Christian Ricca documented the event here (http://vimeo.com/4262475). Fixed Fight 3 was supported by countless sponsors, families, and friends. It would not have been nearly as epic without each of them. To the countless volunteers and participants, we thank you.
